Guild member Gurpareet Bains has told us all about his new project: ‘It is taken six or so years graft to create what was without a doubt, for me, the most challenging recipe ever and something that has allegedly eluded other manufacturers..

‘The result of that six-year research is what I believe is a world first – a vegetable-based snack bar range called Vedge and developed in partnership with Vedge Snacks. Each bar contains one or two portions of your five-a-day and is lower in sugar and fat than existing fruit and nut-based bars. It's aimed at healthy eaters, and my hope is that the bars become the go-to snack for everyone and a genuine substitute for existing convenience foods like chocolate. It is also ideal for parents who are struggling to get their kids to eat healthily at home during lockdown.
