Farrington’s Mellow Yellow, sponsor of the Guild's Investigative Food Award sponsor, is inviting Guild members to visit their Northamptonshire farm on Monday 12 July.

Farrington’s Mellow Yellow, a family business, are Britain’s original ‘seed to bottle’ producer of Mellow Yellow cold pressed rapeseed oil.
           
The day will begin with a tour of the farm and the processing facilities led by Duncan Farrington, highlighting their sustainable farming techniques, which recently won them a Queen’s Award. There will then be a tasting of their cold pressed rapeseed oil and salad dressings.

Lunch, including a glass of wine or soft drink, will be provided at The White Horse in Tilbrook.

After lunch there will be a chance to taste some delicious ice cream from the local Gander’s Goat Farm as well as Friar’s Farm makers of bespoke home-made preserves before the day ends.

Travel to Farrington Oils

For those coming by train, Wellingborough station is the best option for arrival. The 9.45am from London St Pancras takes 52 minutes. A mini bus will be provided to collect members from the station and transfer them to Farrington Oils. If you are travelling direct to the farm independently please plan to arrive no later than 11am.
 
Spaces are limited to 30 so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Tickets for the day are £15 and can be reserved by emailing jonathan@gfw.co.uk. This includes the transfer from Wellingborough station to Farrington’s farm and lunch.
