Event Information

A voyage of discovery through three wines from Penfolds and Wynns

This event is already sold out. If you would like to add your name to the waiting list please email Guild administrator Jonathan Woods jonathan@gfw.co.uk.

Penfolds is one of Australia’s oldest wine companies, established way back in 1844 by Christopher Penfold, a doctor with an eye for medicinal winemaking, and his wife Mary, who arrived in South Australia from England with French vines and a taste for adventure. Today, Penfolds is famous throughout the world, renowned as a master winery blending parcels of fruit from different vineyards and different regions.

Susy Atkins, wine columnist for the Sunday Telegraph and drinks editor of delicious magazine, will explore this approach as she leads us through an hour-long tasting of these very fine wines from the 2018 vintage, including a 100% Shiraz, a 100% Cabernet and a Shiraz/Cabernet blend. Guests will be sent the three bottles in advance, and there will be some tips on bites to match with them for those who wish to have them to hand as we taste the wines.

Tickets are £20, which includes delivery of the wines to your chosen address. Numbers are strictly limited and we expect the event to sell out quickly so do book soon, by Thursday 1 April at the very latest. Please include full details of the address to which your bottles should be sent along with a mobile phone number.

All of the Guild's current sessions are taking place through Zoom. Please email Guild administrator Jonathan Woods jonathan@gfw.co.uk to register and Jonathan will then send you details of how to access the events on Zoom.
