Carolyn Boyd

Carolyn is an editor, writer and consultant with 20 years experience in travel, food and drink, culture and history. Specialising in France, thanks to nearly ten years as Editor of the award-winning France Magazine, she writes for national newspapers including The Times and The Guardian, as well as leading national consumer magazines such as Sunday Times Travel Magazine and National Geographic Traveller. Freelance since May 2016, her first big project was to research and write the France edition of Lonely Planet's recipe book series 'From the Source' for which she interviewed 65 local French chefs about their favourite traditional recipes. She translated the recipes from French to English, and wrote the introductory story for each one (as well as the introduction, and all other content). The book was published in August 2017. She is researching further books on French food and drink.
