I've been working in and around food writing ever since I published The Sunday Times Vitality Cookbook, followed by the What Really Works series of health books which had a focus on Nutrition and Wellness. I have a special interest in Botanical Cooking and a rural home in West Yorkshire - surrounded by hedgerows - which helps! I was the Food & Drink Editor for the Archant SW Life titles covering Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset for several years. I devised and ran the Devon Life Home Cook of the Year competition and was the launch editor of Mediaclash's Devon Crumbs magazine.

I am the editor of Resurgence & Ecologist magazine which publishes six times a year. I try and introduce a new food writer in each issue so please get in touch (susan@resurgence.org). I also work as a freelance book editor/ghost-writer and mentor helping new non fiction authors polish their manuscripts ready for submission to agents and publishers.
My cookery writing for Resurgence magazine - flagship for the environmental movement - and The Ecologist website was shortlisted in the Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink awards (2014). I have been an invited Judge for the Great Taste and Taste of the West awards.
