Kevin Geddes

I am an author, food writer, PhD student and blogger - fascinated by early pioneer television cookery programmes (Fanny Cradock in particular), vintage cookbooks and all things retro. I lecture on food communication and the media as part of a Masters in Gastronomy at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. My PhD is looking at the history and development of television cooking programmes in Britain (1936-1976). I have published two books in 2019 - a biography of Fanny Cradock in October, followed by a festive cookery book based on her recipes in November. I am busy planning further titles. I have broadcast on TV and radio - as an expert on 1970s food and drink - for the BBC. As well as these paid opportunities, I regularly blog as Keep Calm and Fanny On, recreating the dishes of Fanny Cradock on all their glory, minus the meat.
