Crowdfunding for Elisabeth Luard’s new book

Elisabeth Luard, recipient of the Guild’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016, is seeking crowdfunding for her next project Cookstrip: Around the World in 80 Dishes. The cookbook will use a strip cartoon format to set out step-by-step instructions for 80 dishes from round the world using images from Elisabeth’s travel-sketchbooks. Elisabeth has teamed up with the crowdfunding publisher Unbound, who aim to give people the tools, support and freedom to bring their ideas to life.

You can find out more about the project and help fund the publication via unbound.com/books/cookstrip.

Foodie retreats with Manna from Devon Cooking School

After the success of their foodie retreats at Casa Las Chimeneas in the remote Alpujarran hills in southern Spain, Guild member Holly Jones and husband David, owners of Manna from Devon Cooking School, have added a new location for their guests; France’s beautiful northern Dordogne.

Holly and David have hooked up with fellow food-lovers Peter and Annette Marshall of Chadène in the Forêt de la Double between Bordeaux and Bergerac. The Marshalls’ new gîte complex is comfortably appointed and with the swimming pool overlooking the new potager and the wildlife-filled meadow, it promises to be a great location for the new foodie week starting Summer 2018.

Holly and David will run two retreats in 2018 – the first one is planned for Saturday 2 to Saturday 9 June with another one in September. More details from Holly at Manna from Devon on info@mannafromdevon.com and 01803 752943.
