Now in its fifth year, the prestigious Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards exist to champion the very best travel writing in the world and this year’s shortlists included both multi-award winning titles and debut authors with books that will both stimulate thought and inspire travel, while bringing lesser-known parts of the world sharply into focus. The awards are presented in ten awards categories and Guild member Eleanor Ford was the winner of the Kerb Food and Drink Travel Book of the Year for her book Fire Island: Recipes from Indonesia (Murdoch Books).

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony at the London Transport Museum on Wednesday 26 February, which was compered by former Countryfile and Wish You Were Here presenter and author Julia Bradbury.
