Adele Conn

I’m Adele, a lover of food, a wine enthusiast (Diploma Level 1 WSET Wine Course) and a gin guru (Diploma in Gin, Edinburgh Whisky Academy) . I bring you reviews and news on food, drink, accommodation, travel and products from across Scotland and the UK (and other countries when travelling) through my blog and social media under the name TartanSpoon. Besides reviewing food, drink, travel and products; I have also been a judge at the first Scottish Street Food Awards, the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink awards and Cocktails in the City and the official food blogger for the Inaugural Islay Jura Food Festival. I have been fortunate enough to have travelled to Barbados with VisitBarbados, Poland with National Support Centre for Agriculture (KOWR) to highlight agrotourism and to Thailand to review a specific hotel. I am passionate about Scottish produce, and will do my utmost to support Scottish suppliers and producers. Scotland is one of the best countries for food and drink and I can confidently say we most definitely have the best seafood in the world, our strawberries are superb and our venison and game is top notch. Each restaurant/bar experience that I review is rewarded a Spoon Award - 10/10 being a Tartan Spoon, Gold Spoon 9/10 on a sliding scale to a Wooden Spoon which is 6/10. I don't write negative reviews as I only want to highland places that people will enjoy. I started this blog approx 7 years ago and left my full time employ last year to pursue a full time writer, blogging and influencer career. I have also started a new company called Noble Social "Conn-sultancy" offering Instagram coaching and training, hospitality audits and events management.

Regular work

Working with large food, drink and travel brands as well as small independent or business start ups on their online/social media promotions. I write reviews about food, drink and accommodation where these hospitality venues have invited me to dine, drink or stay.

Commercial interests

With my work there is a 70/30 split on gifted invites in return for a review to 30% that will pay me to review. Since having gone freelance this year, and with my website and social media reach sitting at around 40k followers, I am concentrating on monetising what I do turning this more into a business.
