Jan Fullwood

I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Home Economics from Bath University and have enjoyed a full and varied career in food spanning 35 years. I began my career in the food industry in new product development for St Ivel Ltd, then moved into food retail at Tesco plc, working in product evaluation, public relations and as a contributor to the Tesco Magazine. I was Commercial Food Projects Manager for the Good Housekeeping Institute before becoming freelance to pursue more creative opportunities. Over the years I have had the pleasure to work with many high profile clients, providing creative and practical support to retailers, manufacturers and publishers through product development and evaluation; recipe writing, testing and editing; food and cookery demonstrations. I enjoy learning about food history and support local museums with their historical events. As well as a lifetime of working in food, I cook for pleasure. I am passionate about baking, preserving, eating seasonally and locally where possible and cooking from scratch. I enjoy passing on my knowledge and enthusiasm through cookery demonstrations and events. I’m an avid reader of cookery books, magazines and features, and would say that my life really does revolve around food – cooking, eating and enjoying it with friends and family, both for work and for pleasure.
