Kalpna Woolf writes: ‘91 Ways brings people together by eating together and sharing our stories. We have always done this face-to-face, and a community cook who shares the story behind their heritage dishes leads all our events. However, while that’s not been possible we’ve taken things online. Over the last few months we have run online cook-alongs for organisations whose staff have not been able to meet so creating an opportunity for them to cook together, reconnect as teams and have some fun. ‘There’s always a lot of laughter, always, learning about each other, deepening understanding of another culture and quite a bit of competition as teams try to get the dishes right!
‘Previous cook-alongs have included an alternative festive feast with Bristolian Chef Adrian Kirikmaa, Eritrean Hamli (a tasty spinach side dish) with 91 Ways Ambassador Negat Hussein, and an array of Indian treats celebrating the food cooked at the Hindu celebration of Diwali with our founder Kalpna Woolf! Recently, we cooked a three-course Mauritian meal with the staff of the Telegraph.’
