Next in the series of ‘Cooking the Books: the Supper Club’, Gilly Smith’s podcast-inspired dinner for 26 at home in the middle of the East Sussex countryside, is vegan queen, Bettina Campolucci-Bordi.

She’ll be preparing a feast of plants on Wednesday 24 November to showcase her latest book, Celebrate, and chatting about it to Gilly.

Dinner is £45, and an extra £60 for bed and breakfast if you fancy staying over. Expect a herd of deer to saunter past as you dig into your scrambled eggs and locally baked sourdough! This is Bloomsbury land with Charleston and Virginia Woolf’s home in Rodmell just down the road, so make a midweek break out of it. Lewes is 15 minute’s drive and 5 mins on the train, and Brighton 35 mins drive and 25 on the train.

The nearest train is Glynde, Berwick or Lewes. Email Gilly@gillysmith.com for more info, and if you’d like to chop and chat with Gilly and guests about your book.

Bettina will be on the Cooking the Books podcast on Thursday 4 November. Guild member Ruth Nieman is Gilly’s guest on Monday 20 December as she cooks from and celebrates her new book Freekeh: Wild Wheats and Ancient Grains.
