British Library
Mallika Basu is bringing food writing dos and don’ts bang up to date in two sets of courses for the British LIbrary – a a three-part online course conducted over three weeks, and a two-day, on-site masterclass. Everyone is welcome – chefs, cookbook authors, cafe owners, product developers, brand owners etc.
She’ll be covering:
Food as a force for good and change, and how not to offend the cultures that inspire you. This is even more important in the morally and socially conscious world we live in and where lots of industry bods come unstuck
Tips on how to get started, developing a voice and following, and staying motivated. Taking the leap is always the hardest part, but these days more than ever resilience matters
How to stand out with photography, putting your best phone forward so your pictures don’t put a bad taste in the mouth with photographer Julian George; and
Navigating social media. Love it or hate it, it’s a necessity for publishing your work and building your personal brand
Industry veterans Lulu Grimes and our very own Orlando Murrin will be joining as special guests to talk about pitching and publishing your work and the practicalities of recipe testing, ingredients, research and more.
The masterclass builds on from the online series and incorporates plenty of time and space to read, write and share. Space are limited, to book:
