Benefits of being a Member

The Guild of Food Writers is the professional association of food writers and broadcasters in the United Kingdom. Established in 1984, its membership base is now comprised of more than 550 authors, broadcasters, columnists, content creators and journalists.

  • Broadening your knowledge of food and food writing through Guild-organised discussions, workshops, forums, comparative tastings and visits. Further information about members and their professional endeavours is shared via an exclusive monthly newsletter.
  • Gaining access to the password-protected Members’ Area of this site, which contains details of the Guild’s Fellowship Fund and other bursaries, as well as discounts, some considerable, offered to Guild members by various companies and organisations.
  • The opportunity to influence the future of the Guild by volunteering as a special officer or standing for election to the committee.
  • Receiving profession support and guidance from the Guilds Member Services committee member, including access to an annually updated pay survey.
