Feeling Squashed?
‘I had visited an exhibition of works by Michael Craig-Martin, full of colour, everyday items and overlapping lines. I was eager to borrow some of that style in this November drawing. It was a bit of a change in how I use my iPad drawing app, as I was trying out different tools for blocking in colours and creating shapes, combined with drawing. Apart from having reference photos of squash to work from, the rest was imagination – and where I let the pumpkin seeds and wedges take me.’
