Getting Pickled
‘I am always on the lookout for new seasonal food ideas to draw, especially as the monthly newsletter deadline looms closer. So when I hadn’t come up with one for the September issue, it was opportune that I happened to visit a friend who showed me jars of homemade kimchi slowly fermenting in her fridge. The seed was sown – and I was soon caught up in drawing the crazy abstract patterning of the veggie layers. And in case you are wondering – the lettering translates as ‘kimchi’ in Korean.’
