Inside Out Pepper
‘I had just bought a shapely, shiny red pepper, for roasting, skinning, seeding and slicing, to toss into a salsa. As it looked too good to cook immediately – plus I needed an August newsletter pin-up – I decided to give this pepper a temporary reprieve from the oven and use it as a model for my drawing. I sat it on a colourful wooden tray and hoped to capture its vibrant life force – inside and out.’
