Wild Beach Pick Nick
‘I enjoy trying to get a sense of movement in a drawing. What began as a fairly calm image of a summer beach picnic, soon turned into a blustery one, especially once the delicate basil leaves, originally drawn resting in a relaxed fashion on top of the Tricolore-style salad, suddenly decided to take flight. I never know what the ingredients are going to get up to – so I never quite know how the drawing is going to turn out.’
