Carolyn is an editor, writer and consultant with 20 years experience in travel, food and drink, culture and history. Specialising in France thanks to nearly ten years as Editor of the award-winning France Magazine, she writes for national newspapers including The Guardian and Financial Times as well as leading national consumer magazines such as National Geographic Traveller Food and Delicious Magazine. Freelance since May 2016, her first big project was to research and write the France edition of Lonely Planet's recipe book series 'From the Source' for which she interviewed 65 local French chefs about their favourite traditional recipes. She translated the recipes from French to English, and wrote the introductory story for each one (as well as the introduction, and all other content). The book was published in August 2017. She is currently writing her next book 'Amuse Bouche: How to eat your way around France', which will be published by Profile Books in June 2024. Alongside her freelance work, she is PR and Communications Manager for the Roux Scholarship, the prestigious competition for young British chefs. The wide-ranging role includes managing all the communications, including press releases, stakeholder communications and social media. In autumn 2020, she completely revamped the website to give it a whole new look.
