I have been freelance for over 33 years (having worked in industry for several years before that) and I have written over 24 published cookery books on a variety of subjects.
Although I am originally a food writer, the majority of my time now is spent working as a copy editor or proofreader on a wide range of cookery/food books written by other authors.
I have worked with many different food writers, chefs, bloggers and publishers over the years, and my background in writing helps enormously with my editorial work.
As well as cookery/food titles, I also work on recipe-led health, diet and nutrition books, plus copyediting work on website recipes.
Additionally, I proofread (usually digitally now, marking up pdfs, but I can mark up hard copies, if required) on all non-fiction titles (including cookery/food, health and other home/lifestyle titles, such as drink, arts and crafts, gardening, narrative, etc). I can also do e-book checking, if required.
I am very organised, competent, thorough, meticulous, clear and sensitive in my work, as well as being reliable, flexible and used to working to tight deadlines.
