Jacob Smith

I’m Jacob Smith, a food writer and editor based in Edinburgh. I have written for The Scotsman, delicious. and Pellicle, among others. I work as a freelance news editor at The Takeout and volunteer as secretary at The Guild of Food Writers, the professional association of food writers and broadcasters in the United Kingdom.

As a freelancer, I manage the marketing and communications campaigns for Edinburgh Food Social, a social enterprise that teaches people in the Greater Craigmillar area how to cook with local, seasonal food. I also create marketing and communications content for both Restorate and Noisekillers.

My first short story will be published in the Leicester Literary Review come spring 2025. I also have an article forthcoming in National Geographic Traveller Food’s spring edition. If you want to learn more about my work, please get in touch.
