Jane Gleeson is an editor, event manager, and writer. During the pandemic, when live events were on hold, Jane sought out ways of bringing people together from the safety of their own homes. She assembled a team of writers and creatives and published Guzzle issue one, a print publication that tells stories from a generation of voices through the lenses of art and food.
Born and bred in Ireland, Jane tackles topics from gender to society through the form of creative non-fiction and peppers her pieces with humour. She brings her work to life in the pages of Guzzle and at live events, including discussions and dinners.
Given Jane’s experience as an event manager, Guzzle is realised in print but brought to life at various pop-up events. She launched the publication with a discussion about Irish food, collaborated with the Fumbally Café on a Valentine's Day Dinner, and planned a Feast Over Fire at last year's Body & Soul Festival. Currently, she is in the midst of planning a second Valentine's Day dinner with chef Tom Arnold (Mountain, Brat, The River Café).
Since its inception, Guzzle has been awarded funding from the Arts Council and Culture Ireland. It recently garnered Jane two nominations in the Irish Food Writing Awards and was listed in the 100 Archive for notable design projects in 2022.
