I was born in 1977 in Somerset. I earned a BSc Hons in social sciences with the Open University, before becoming a family support practitioner. I have spent most of my life enjoying cooking and baking, whilst raising two sons. In 2011, one of my sons was diagnosed with a life-threatening allergy to peanuts and tree nuts, and diagnosed with asthma. I then changed my career to cooking and baking in local café’s, gaining experience and insight into producing food for all kinds of dietary requirements. In 2019, I launched my own homemade food delivery business, The Doorstep Baker. I taught myself bread and sourdough baking and made every item without peanuts or tree nuts. In 2023, I won a Gold award at the Free From Food Awards for my classic sourdough loaf in the nut and peanut free category. I now spend my time offering baking workshops, writing recipes and selling my bakes at local farmers markets in Worcestershire, where I live. My debut recipe book ‘The Doorstep Baker: You can make all sorts of bread’ has been published independently, using the recipes in my baking workshops.
