Guild Fellowship Fund: Florence White

Sue Quinn would love to hear from any Guild members who have personal connections, anecdotes or insights relating to the life of food writer Florence White. In 2019 Sue received a bursary from the Guild’s Fellowship Fund to research White, with a view to writing her biography.

Sue is looking for information beyond White’s books and journalism, that is, material that might not already be in the public domain. For example, Dorothy Hartley knew White well, and discussed her with Adrian Bailey during an interview he did with her for an excellent magazine article in the 1970s, and there may be other food writers who discussed White with Hartley.
