I have been a home economist for over 20 years and studied Food and Consumer Management at Birmingham College of Food. As a student I was a runner at BBC Birmingham for many food programmes, and went on to write the recipes for the chef presenters for cookery show 'Can't Cook, Won't Cook'. I have worked as an NPD technologist, developing own-brand products for major supermarkets, and then returned to work in media, as an Editorial Assistant at the Good Housekeeping Institute, and then Cookery Assistant at Prima magazine. I worked with Henrietta Green, writing copy for her website, 'FoodLoversGuide' before turning freelance and working as a cookery demonstrator for Neff, Bosch and Siemens home appliances, Le Creuset and others. I also taught at Jean Christophe Novelli's cookery academy. I test and evaluate recipes for many mainstream cookery books including the Masterchef Cookery Course, and five recent Mary Berry titles, and many others for publishers Dorling Kindersley. My own recipes were published in 'Eat Well, Live Longer' (2018, DK) by Juliette Kellow and Dr Sarah Brewer. I currently work with Hellofresh evaluating their weekly recipe cards, testing and providing guidance to make sure the recipes work well. Since the pandemic I have been providing content for digital platforms such as Tesco Real Food. I consult on the recipes and and storyboard prior to filming, as well as scripts for the chefs, and camera shots to show the food at its best. In the studio, I style the food and provide ready-made dishes. I am an ambassador for the PR campaign 'Love British Food' and provide cookery demonstrations at food festivals and events. In 2017, I co-founded a food festival 'Taste Bedford' , to help support local producers, which has continued to run annually (excluding 2020).
