Rachel Phipps

I’m a freelance recipe developer living in Kent, as well as the author of two cookbooks: Student Eats (Ebury; 2017) and One Pan Pescatarian (Yellow Kite; 2020). I’ve been writing my eponymous food blog since 2009, and I have been writing food essays and sharing yet more recipes on my Substack ingredient since 2021. My work has appeared in The Times, The Telegraph, Good Housekeeping, Stylist, Fabulous, Hello!, BBC Food, Sainsbury’s Magazine, Great British Chefs, Food 52 and Borough Market Life, and as well as working with plenty of food brands as well I currently spend the bulk of my time ghost writing recipes for American and European food websites.

Special subjects

Student cooking, one pan meals. Modern Jewish recipes. I used to live in Los Angeles so I'm also excellent about translating American recipes for British kitchens, and vice versa.
