My name is Kathy Kordalis and I was born into a Greek family in Sydney, Australia but now currently reside in London with my English husband. I have over ten years experience in the food industry and currently work as a Food Stylist, Recipe Writer, Recipe Tester and am an Author of seven cookbooks. Previously, I managed the Divertimenti Cookery School where I was inspired to embark into a cooking career and undertook the Leiths Diploma of Food and Wine where I qualified as a Chef. My passion is food and its place in social history and art. My food style is light, relaxed and accessible, and I draw inspiration from my formal training at Leiths, Australian and Mediterranean heritage, and years of food industry experience across a range of roles, both organisational and practical. My books offer elegant sharing recipes for times when you want to enjoy sumptuous meals and wow your guests. For day-to-day eating, I like to offer loads of satisfying and healthy ideas, and love to always encourage home cooks to widen their repertoire and be more creative with ingredients. Whether cooking a Revamped Roast from Roast Revolution or a light and healthy mid-week meal from Cauliflower Power to having fun with friends making a Poptail from the Poptail Manual - there is something for everyone. My next endeavour is the world of olive oil, its health benefits, rich history, healing properties and importance in society - modern and ancient.
A keen interest in olive oil. My families both in Greece and in Australia make olive oil as they have done for generations. I am on an educational journey of olive oil and in training to be an olive oil sommelier in order to take over the olive groves and production of olive oil from my father.
