Emily Gussin

After graduating with an English degree and an MA in Modern Literature, I started my career in the world of cake. I worked in the editorial team on cake decorating magazine titles and also on a few books. I then trained as a chef, completing a Cordon Bleu diploma at Tante Marie Culinary Academy in June 2018. After a brief period freelancing, I started my current role as Deputy Food Editor of Waitrose & Partners Food magazine in September 2018. I work on all the cookery content of the monthly magazine with our Food Editor and Food Assistant. Recipe development, writing, testing, assisting stylists and directing shoots, food feature writing, commissioning, editing and proofreading etc. I am a self-confessed food geek - I love working out why a recipe hasn't worked or could be improved technically. I also co-run a sustainable, local food supper club called 10 Miles Club. All the ingredients are sourced within 10 miles of the venue. We're currently based in Hackney.
