I am the daughter of a Cornish beef farmer and grew up on a traditional mixed farm. I live just outside London now with my husband and two small sons. I trained in magazine journalism at City University and worked as food reporter on The Grocer then creating content for restaurant D&D London at Seven Publishing. My next job was as features writer on Waitrose Food magazine where I became features editor before leaving when I had my first son. Since then (2016) I have been a freelance food writer and editor. I write two days per week for Waitrose Weekend. Over the years I have interviewed amazing cooks and chefs including Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall, Antonio Carluccio, Prue Leith, Anna del Conte and Claudia Roden.
Farming. Cookery. Food history. Food in literature. Children and food.
