Event Information

An Exclusive Insight into the British Library’s Food Collections and Forthcoming Food Season

Guild members are invited to an exclusive online event with the British Library ‘Food Season’ to discuss the Library’s extensive food collection and their upcoming programme of virtual events exploring and debating food with chefs, historians and food writers.

Hosted by Food Season founder and curator, food historian Dr Polly Russell and Food Season Guest Director (and former Guild co-chair) Angela Clutton. This Zoom event will explore the wealth of information contained in the food collections, how these can be accessed by members, and how the collections influence the events programmed into the Food Season.

Members will be able to explore with Polly and Angela how the British Library’s third Food Season – originally scheduled for spring 2020 – has been reimagined to address the increasing questions and struggles around food production, supply, distribution and consumption following the coronavirus pandemic.

The Guild's British Library Workshop will take place through Zoom. Please email Guild administrator Jonathan Woods jonathan@gfw.co.uk to register and Jonathan will then send you details of how to access the event on Zoom.
