Unlocking the Secrets of the Camera in Your Pocket
A GFW workshop with award-winning photographer and Guild member Georgia Glynn Smith.
Want to take better pictures of your food, family and travels? You really don’t need a high end DSL camera to take amazing pictures. The best camera to use is the one that’s always with you, which for many of us is an iPhone. But you do need to know how to use the camera and utilise the brilliant hidden settings on your phone.
In this short workshop, Georgia will talk through simple tips and tricks to help you show off your creations in their most flattering light.
Topics will include:
Georgia Glynn Smith has had the pleasure of shooting (and eating the contents) of over 90 cookbooks. She has photographed books for writers and chefs from Mary Berry, Gordon Ramsay, Nigella Lawson and Nigel Slater to GBBO winners, charities and first-time authors. Her work has taken her across the globe, and opened her eyes to the provenance of recipes and ingredients and the geographical and cultural context they spring from. She is passionate about encouraging us to observe and think creatively about what we see, and how to use this inspiration to create your unique style.
This short workshop is a taster for three online workshops Georgia has been writing in lockdown and which she will be launching soon: The Art of Seeing, The Art of Noticing and The Art of Sharing.
The session is free for Guild members but will not be recorded in order to protect Georgia's copyright.
