Stephen Anderson

Having completed a bachelors degree in physics I was a secondary school teacher in South London for a number of years. During this time I worked occasionally as an assistant at Alastair Little's cooking school in Orvieto, Italy. I decided to abandon my teaching career and throw in my lot as a trainee chef with Alastair at his Frith Street restaurant in the early 90's. In 1996 I opened my first restaurant, Seu Xerea in Valencia Spain. I went on to open Ma Khin Café in the same city in 2014, and in 2019, my third restaurant in the city, Baalbec. Burma: Food, Family & Conflict, published 2018, was co-authored with my sister Bridget Anderson.
